Frequently Asked Questions

Is it free?
Yes, no account needed.

Does my video get uploaded anywhere?
No, GIF creation runs entirely in your browser using your device's own video decoder — your video is never sent to a server.

Why is the clip length limited?
Unlike video, GIF is a frame-by-frame format without heavy compression, so long clips balloon into huge files fast. That's why clip length is capped at 15 seconds — the width (320/480/640px) and frame rate (10/15/20fps) options also help keep the file size down.

What width and fps should I pick?
480px width at 15fps is a good balance for sharing on social media. Pick 320px and 10fps for the smallest file, or 640px and 20fps for smoother motion at the cost of a larger GIF.

Is there a limit on my input video?
The video file you upload can be up to 300MB and any length — but the clip you convert to GIF is capped at 15 seconds, so you trim out just the part you want.
