Compress PDF

Upload a PDF, pick a quality level, shrink the file size. Free, no sign-up, your file never leaves your browser.

How it works

  1. Upload your PDF. A single PDF file, up to 50MB.
  2. Pick a quality level. Low, medium, or high — balance file size against sharpness.
  3. Download the compressed PDF. Same page count, smaller file size.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it free?
Yes, no account needed.

Does my PDF get uploaded anywhere?
No, compression runs entirely in your browser.

Can I still select text after compressing?
No — each page is rebuilt as an image, so text is no longer selectable or searchable. That's the only compression method that works with zero server involved.

How much smaller will my file get?
Depends on the content — scanned/image-heavy PDFs shrink a lot, PDFs that were already mostly small text see less difference.

Can I compress a password-protected PDF?
Encrypted (password-protected) PDFs aren't supported; remove the password first.
